My intro to ARK Survival Evolved, and steemit

I wanted to transfer some of my work here, and try this medium out :) Plus this may be an easier medium to consolidate my stuff. We shall see. I will bring in 2 stories at a time till your all caught up, then some new stuff as well.
This is my story on my intro to ARK survival evolved. Videos and links to come at a later date. :) (As this is my first post.)

ARK Survival Evolved.

Just a newbs story....solo.

So, I bought this, been eying it for a while. I don't know all the names of the dino's yet, just a newb. Figured I'd play some single player and figure it all out.

Killed a few dodos,
started taming the spitting dinos.
built a small house in the outskirts of the island. Nothing fancy, a humble abode.

I got stronger, started taming raptors, and most of the spitting dino's. Was feeling pretty invicible. Had a trike and a few Ptyradons. Started exploring.

Found a small river nearby. Going up it I see a raptor glowing red. So what? My raptor glows red too.....attacked it and it wiped all my dinos. See the message an "Alpha" raptor has killed etc, etc.. I barely escaped with my life.

Figured out the red glow is the alphas, avoid at all cost.

Founded a new base inland, on a cliff. Beautiful views. Lets build here!
Built a nice base, really worked hard on the floorplan. Multilevel goodness.

A few in-game days in noticed a few bird like creatures with wolverine claws started roaming nearby.. No prob, I decided to tame one. This would be a fierce addition to my base.

Mounted one of my 2 Petros on a rock. Put that little "wolverine bird raptor thing" to sleep. All good.
Put some berries and meat on it....this is gonna rock!

Get killed instantly, the last thing I saw was a red glow and I was dead. Killed by an Alpha Carno was what I saw as the last message.

Have hell, dying a few times to get my stuff. As I grab my gear, see messages that all my Dino's are dying to another bird/raptor thing. Ohhhhh noooooos.

Find out a glowing red carno is outside my base. Just roaming, probably partying and chilling with his homies, oh wait, he is killing anything....everything.

Manage to go back to original newb humble abode. Make a bunch of walls. Make the Dinos pay for them. Go back and was able to put walls around my "awsome" base.

Snuck back into my "awsome" base. Red glowing carno is hanging around, probably peeing on everything. Was able to get walls up by running back and forth naked to put them in place.

I have an awsome base now that I can't leave, unless I fly out. Thank you glowing red carno. I will kill you someday. Why won't you just go grab a beer and chill somewhere else?

Welcome to Ark. Love it. Can't wait to play online once I figure some of this out. Back to taming low level newb Dino's........

a short time later.... after naked running the carno away from my base........

Went out and saw a few more bird wolverine things nearby. Built a taming (cage) if you will next to my base. This was a newb mistake, since I led this dangerous Therizinosaurus right up to my base. It glitched out of the cage and I was in a fight for my base as it started attacking the walls. I managed to make it run, and couldn't find it.

Saw another one and tried to tame it in the field on a rock like I did the first time I had knocked out one but got eaten by that carno that had killed me earlier. This time no luck, and I ran for my life. I later realized I was shooting regular arrows and not the knockout ones. Doooh. Now I have 2 of these Therizinosaurus really close by.... Yet another naked run in the works soon to get them away. LOL. Time to try something else.

I decide to explore some more. After a while flying around on my Petro, I see a small creature with a spiky tail. I looked at it with my new made spyglass (yeah!) and saw it was a Doedicurus?, Yeah buddy. I get to taming. Its a little scary, with that raptor on the cliff above us. A while later I have a new friend. He looks like he likes to party, so I name him Charlie.

I made another mistake. I cant pick up Charlie and take him back to base, and I have not seen an Argy Bird yet in game (exploring southern half of map).

A brilliant idea forms, I will fly with Charlie following down to the beach, then around the map. It may take a while. It does..until I reach a point where I find another Alpha raptor on the beach blocking the inlet. We are close, and I decide there is nothing I can do. Time to take a chance....

I give Charlie all my berries, and a small pat on the back. I fly across the inlet and wish him luck getting to me, with him swimming across. It is a long ways away. Then I see it...Charlie swimming like someone is handing out free ice cream, and he is late. He is swimming for his life to me. I cheer him on, not telling him that there is some kinda giant “Lochness Monster” thing swimming right at him. I mean multiple fins and all. This thing is scary. I am too scared to even check what it was, I was just yelling for Charlie to make it. Hurry Charlie!

He makes it, YES! barely. I bring him to my old newb base and park him there while I go figure out my Therizinosaurus problem...

Thanks for reading, This game is awesome. Just thought I'd share. I have rebuilt and am chugging forward, enjoying the heck outta this game. You just gotta take your knocks along with your triumphs and enjoy it!
