Hatoful Boyfriend, I am convinced, was the result of a drunken night out with a bunch of game designers who kept making increasingly awful ideas and betting one another that they couldn't design a game where X, Y, Z, A, B, and C were all elements, then someone woke up the morning after and, bleary-eyed though they were, they grabbed a pen and started writing down the weird-ass dream they just had...
Seriously, I love visual novels more than is healthy for a guy on the wrong side of 30, but this one is sheer lunacy that goes dark waaaaaaay unexpectedly given the expectations it sets in its presentation and title screen, and I can think of nothing else like it that I've ever played.

Honestly, I'm in agreement with on that, lol. There either had to be booze, psychedelic drugs, or some kind of insane fever dream involved with this games conception.
I'm not too deep into visual novel style games, but yeah, this one raises the bar pretty fucking high in my opinion. I can't think of any other ones I've watched people play on youtube occasionally or that I've dabbled in that come close to this game.
And, thanks, bro! I think maybe me posting later in the evening recently when I was posting in the middle of the afternoon before might have something to do with the lack of upvotes on my last few posts. But, it's really hard to tell, honestly. It's not a big deal overall though, I'm just happy that at least a few people appreciate my reviews :)
