Norway prime minister caught playing pokemon GO prior to meeting Trump
The past few months have brought plenty of reports about people playing Pokemon GO when they shouldn’t be. Over the weekend an actor played the game at the Golden Globes, while in Canada a man was fined for playing Pokemon GO at the wheel.
But the biggest case of someone playing Pokemon GO when they shouldn’t actually involves a world leader. Erna Solberg, the Prime Minister of Norway, has now been caught playing the hit mobile game ahead of a meeting with President of the United States Donald Trump. Solberg is currently visiting the United States to discuss foreign relations between Norway and the US and it is the third meeting between herself and Trump.
While some fans speculated that Solberg may have wanted to get capture (North American region exclusive) Tauros during her visit, Norway’s PM explained that that wasn’t the reason she was playing. In an interview with Norweigan publication Dagbladet (translated via Google Translate), Solberg told them that “There was a way to send a message with Pokemon to the family at home.”
