Terry's Big Adventure- Super Mario Bros clone ®
-His name is Terry, and at first look he resembles a bit of Mario. Well, that's only at first because in-game he has shaggy hair instead of a cap... anyway, he had a long and winding road in front of him which put alot of players on a fair effort.
Using the Super Mario Bros. "Formula", Terry must survive and get to the exit of each level. Murderous situations are at every turn, enemies such as hedgehogs, worms and some mutant critters which are good for a uncomfortable surprise.
Terry eliminates his enemies using yo-yo balls and already there lies one of the major hitches in the game.
When close to the enemy, Terry is a bit rejected backwards due to inertia so that situations occur in which the player messes up trying to eliminate more than one enemy moving in a row. The levels are remarkable long, filled with mushrooms, which only serve to boost up the high score. No special opportunities for improving the performance of the character, therefore, the game focuses on pure skill to control and skill to survive, under the circumstances given. Most mushrooms can be picked up smoothly while for some a true mastery of the controller is needed because of demanding jumping stocks due to inaccessible parts of the level.
An unpleasant surprise are poisonous mushrooms the player may accidentally pick up and lose a valuable life. In addition to yo-yo balls, Terry may occasionally throw a mudd-ball you can pick up at specific locations, a pretty useful weapon especially in the late stages of the game.
The end of each level is followed by a bonus stage in which you try to collect as many mushrooms as possible in the time limit. Collecting the majority of mushrooms, with seamlessly precision jumping and control was considered a fantastic endeavor! The attribute "limited immortality" is accomplished by collecting each letter of the word T-E-R-R-Y which occasionally appear after the elimination of some of the enemies. Much needed in the stages when the game becomes excessively difficult.
