Game Review - They Are Billions
A newly out game on steam called "They Are Billions" is an interesting take on Zombie games & RTS. The game is quite polished despite being in alpha still.
I'd argue it's a zombie version of Age of Empires.
You start the game with a "Town Centre" 4 archers and a soldier.
You need to build a base and expand as soon as possible, while there are constant waves of Zombies attempting to destroy your town. You can build walls, towers and a series of men to protect your town.
Good:
- Difficult learning curve due to game mechanics.
- Very polished for an alpha release. Big things will come of this game.
- Addictive.
- Graphics wise similar to Age of Empires 3.
- Many ways to build your town.
- Maps are randomly generated meaning games are never the same.
- A single weakness in your defence may destroy your entire town (frustrating when you've spent 3 hours on it).
- Only in alpha version at the moment, high potential for improving gameplay.
Bad:
- You cannot save & go back if you fail. 1 shot per map.
- Winning can be map dependant as you may get more beneficial choke points.
- Lack of units at the moment.
- Winning endgame is dependant on - a mix of snipers, thanatos & executors, this can make it repetitive.
- Priced at $25 usd - though arguably I've spent 50 hours on the game so far.
- Single player only. You vs CPU (Game has potential later on for multiplayer?)
This was my town prior to invasion. I won :)
Honestly, if you have $25 USD sitting around, you won't be disappointed. Even spend some crypto gainz buying it!
I didn't know this one, it looks really good with all those zombies rushing on the map. It can be quite impressive when your buildings are surrounded by thousands of zombies.
This was a nice find!
Yeah it's a great game. Quite difficult initially when you're finding your feet.
