PLAYERUNKNOWN'S BATTLEGROUNDS on XBOX ONE

PLAYERUNKNOWN'S BATTLEGROUNDS just announced on Twitter that they will be releasing a physical copy of the game on Xbox One.

For those of you who haven't hear of PLAYERUNKNOWN'S BATTLEGROUNDS, it is a multiplayer online battle royale video game developed and published by PUBG Corp., a subsidiary of Korean publisher Bluehole. Brendan "PlayerUnknown" Greene created the original mods of the game using the the Arma video game series. The idea behind the video game was derived from the 2000 film Battle Royale. If you have played the game then you already know how crazy it can be, up to one hundred players parachute onto an island and scavenge for weapons and equipment to kill others while avoiding getting killed themselves. I always loved the mod versions on Arma and the stand alone version does a great job representing all the hard work and thought that Brendan put into the development of the game.

At E3 2017, Microsoft announced PUBG would be a "console launch exclusive" for the Xbox One and would be releasing in late 2017. Microsoft is also reportedly working to keep the game an Xbox One exclusive for longer, attempting to delay PUBG's possible release on PlayStation 4 or other consoles. Meanwhile, PUBG continues to topple milestones on Steam, mind you that the game is still in beta with a plan to release the full version of the game by the end of the year.
