DOTA 2 and its place on esports
With the growing presence of esports DOTA 2 is surely one of the top leaders in the industry. With over $100 million paid in prize pool money it seems to be the most rewarding game in the Esports industry.
Every year Dota 2 creator Valve hosts a few major events. Typically they host 1 event for each season and the by far the most popular of them is The International which is held in the later months of summer. This years tournament has a crowd funded prize pool shooting its way hopefully above $21 million shooting it up to be the highest prize pool of any esport event ever.
With 9 out of the top 10 prize pools secured by DOTA 2 it has certainly earned its mark as one of the top contenders of the Esports industry.
