My Top 3 Most Played Games! What are yours?
Hello,
my name is Jan and welcome to my first real blog.
I wanted to start with something rather easy to write about, but something I really enjoy. Yes, it is games, and yes it is nothing really devastating. But I was looking through my stuff and thought about something that would be worth writing a bit about. So I wanted to share my most-played games with you!
So let's begin:
1. Minecraft
My by far most-played game, even though I don't play it actively anymore, is, and this is still a bit embarrassing, Minecraft. I think most people know that game. For those who do not, it was and still is a hugely successful game based on a 3D-Block building system and survival elements. Most of my time was spent managing servers back in the day, around version 1.2.3 to around 1.7. I loved creative building, but also making skins for other players. I also started a texture pack, which never got finished. My work can still be found on planetminecraft.com, although I don't use it actively anymore.
2. Dirty Bomb
Now this one might surprise you since this game is barely known. What is Dirty Bomb, you might ask? Let me explain. Dirty Bomb is a free-to-play ego shooter, where you have a team of 5-7 players and every playable character, referred to as Mercs, has a unique set of skills and traits. Some can revive fast, while others can throw grenades or ammunition. There are REALLY unique skills like the orbital laser by Kira or the Airstrike by Skyhammer, as well as Phantoms ability to become almost invisible for a few seconds. You win the game by completing objectives such as planting C4 or delivering detonator modules to a delivery point. Good teamwork is the key to a fun round, as kills don't really matter as much as using your set of skills to your full potential. This and the fact that the game is free-to-play without being pay-to-win just makes it stand out for me. You can skip cash farming and buy new Mercs right ahead, but that is not a key to success, as even the more powerful ones are worthless if you don't know how to play them! Currently, I have 341 hours on record.
3. Euro Truck Simulator 2
Euro Truck Simulator 2 is quite calm compared to Dirty Bomb. You drive around as a truck driver, delivering goods through Europe. By doing that you earn money to build up your own company where you, later on, can have your own employees and trucks. I love this game to just relax with a cup of tea and good music. It is one of the most relaxing games with insanely good mods as well! Currently, I have 115 hours on record in ETS2, I should definitely play it more!
This wraps it up for today! Feel free to share your most-played games, may it be from steam or even your childhood games! I hope this was good to read since this is my first try at something like a blog. I would appreciate feedback on my writing as well!
Thanks for your attention, I wish you a wonderful day.
Bye, for now!
Jan
