Destiny 2: Festival of the Lost 2019
Despite the many new games that continue to be released, I am enjoying playing Destiny 2 once again after the changes made with the release of Shadowkeep. The ever evolving world that is now tied to Seasons has made the grind more logical although needs heavy investment of time to achieve. I am still struggling to get most activities completed as I have no friends that are committed to the game as they have all found other games they rather play. However, in the tradition of the Halloween period, Bungie has launched this year’s Festival of the Lost event.
They leverage most of the assets of last year’s event as the main activity is to complete rounds of the Haunted Forest which is a night time version of the Infinite Forest on Mercury which gives you 15 minutes to get through enemies with a boss at the end of each round. Round 9 is where most loot is optimized but there have been strives to reach round 17 given speculation of additional rewards. Each round comes with modifiers and gets more difficult so be ready for some chaos!
The event brings a couple of quests that require visiting most NPCs in game destinations as if you are trick or treating while defeating enemies in each location. The event brings in game consumables like Candy and Chocolate Coins to use for gear and items which include the traditional masks that have been always available for the event in addition to a new Auto Rifle which drops at a 950 Power level which makes it a great way to power up characters in the grind for higher level activities.
The event started last week and is still available which has me looking for time to complete some of these challenges for some gear and loot. Bungie continues to add content to entangle player more in their universe which seems to be paying off. With the Season past its halfway point, it makes many wonder what will be next for the Destiny universe.
Thanks!
