Wiseguys is a fun looking new sandbox multiplayer first person shooter set in a sprawling city in which players will be able to drive, take part in gang warfare, sell drugs and basically get up to all kinds of criminal mischief.
Currently in development by a small team from Facepunch Studios (Garry’s Mod, Rust), Wiseguys looks set to offer players a large city sandbox to cause havoc in – a bit like GTA and Broke Protocol, but with more of a focus on first person combat. It started life as a city generator that would spawn a detailed and varied city environment around user drawn roads, but has since morphed into something way more fun. It’s still early in development, so is more of a first person shooter set in a city at the moment than a full on open world crime simulator, but the game world looks very inviting, the shooting looks fun, the cars are wonderfully tail-happy and the character models are adorable.
It’s only a small team that’s working on Wiseguys, but they’re making great progress and the list of planned features sounds very enticing, with promises of allowing players to form gangs, take turf, produce drugs, sell drugs, steal from other players, get busted, go to jail and lots more forms of criminal activity.
