Pokémon Go Plus VS Go-tcha

in #gaming7 years ago

Pokémon Go is still a big game and still sees millions of unique daily active players. Of course, the main part of Pokémon Go is catching Pokémon, so a major part of many players adventures are small devices that make their journeys just that little bit easier, but what ones are there?

There’s 2 wearable devices that can help you play the game without having to pull your phone out every time, saving your battery allowing you to go for longer.

The first device I’ll mention is the obvious, official Pokémon Go Plus. It allows you to spin Pokéstops and catch Pokémon at a single press of a button. It notifies you of all this through different coloured lights and vibration patterns. It does its job well but does have its limitations such as it only uses normal Pokéballs so if you’re stacked up on great and ultra balls, well tough luck. Another limitation that could be listed is that you have to actually press a button but I like this feature as it gives you a little control over how much you catch.

The other device that I’m going to mention is the Go-tcha, this 3rd party device has been favoured over the plus but it’s easy to see why. It also has vibration feedback for actions but has a screen instead of coloured lights, this allows for the device to notify you of much more. Because of the screen, it forces you to charge it a lot more often than the Plus. It catches Pokémon and spins Pokéstops automatically allowing you to just go for walks without having to do anything to play the game. Because of this device being 3rd party, there is no promise that there will be continued support for it in game and may block use of it, forcing you to use the Plus.

Overall, I think I’ll stick with the plus as I like having the minimal amount of control over the game.

What device would you prefer?
