I’ve been watching on Twitch MTG Arena Mythic Invitational. 64 players playing for $1 million in prize pool. Ends tomorrow. Interesting to watch the high level decks play and move like snails!

While Steem Monsters does have some advantage like having a digital cards market. It lacks the already existing player base that Magic The Gathering has. It’s also quite stuck in our Steem bubble with its card prices being rather depending on how the Steem price is doing. Most collectors of these kinds of games tend to consider holding time frame of at least 5 years or longer to allow a print to run out and appreciate value long after it has.

Many holders in Steem Monster I don’t think have anything near that mind set of holding timeframe and the game is still only in Beta. We have a while before it’s even a full release I believe. A bunch of possible features that they have not even talks much about. There also a high fatigue rate among many of the higher spenders already.

As long as they get out of beta and into a full release and have the staying power of over 5 years I do think it’s going be a fun ride and amazing thing to return to from time to time to see how it’s doing.

You also have many dccg games in a soft market atm with games like Hearthstone struggling. At least MTGA is holding in there and seems to be building momentum. That should help increase the overall pool of people interested in these kinds of games. If Steem itself explodes in market and user base that will do wonderfuil things for Steem Monsters.
