IS TIME TO HYPE!!!

If you've been following my post this last month you know how much hype, joy, upsets, pain RIP THE KOREAN HYPE TRAIN and surprises this tournament has brought to our screens and hearts and RIOT make it personal to bring all of that to this last day of WORLDS with one of the most amazing opening ceremonies in recent history, LET'S GO!!!
Source: GIPHY
This WORLDS was held in Korea, and what is the first thing that comes to your mind when someone mentions this country? besides, fast AF internet and plastic surgery Hell yeah, K-Pop, oh you don't like K-Pop, well too bad, now you do, because RIOT produced a killer song with the help of Madison Beer, (G)I-DLE and Jaira Burns and it was performed on the opening ceremony by these amazing artists and... AND HOLY SHIT KAI'SA, AKALI AHRI AND EVELYNN
Honoring this WORLDS meta RIOT went high-risk high reward on this one making a joint performance with the real artists and the CGI models of the game's characters, and they totally owned the stage, Madison Beer, (G)I-DLE and Jaira Burns performed like monsters giving it all in the scene, but the highlight for those watching from home was the CGI, I mean, last year Elder Dragon was huge yeah, literally huge it was all over the arena but this time we got CGI characters, dancing and singing along with the real-life artists, this was on another level, I will say no more of this Kai'Sa best girl...
After this amazing show Ahri felt like she needed to go back to the Korean server for an intermission so she went through a really glitchy portal and there she found a really smooth recap of previous Worlds with highlights and even a part of the songs for each tournament to later fall and give the stage to the guys performing RISE
Ok, I have to be honest, thanks Faker for The Glitch Mob, The Word Alive, BOBBY and all the production team for carrying this performance because MAKO SUCKED!!!, I mean, I know most of these guys use auto-tune and shit but he sounded like he had a seizure and forgot how to sing and pronounce the English language, I don't know if is just me but I think they turned off his mic for the second half of the song
But leaving all the Mako slump behind, all these guys killed it in the scenario, the sound was clean AF and the rap part by BOBBY was a blast but the thing impressed everyone the most was just after BOBBY finished rapping, two huge crystal platforms rose with each FNC and IG on top of each one and then they started to move towards each other to collide in the center of the stage THAT WAS MINDBLOWING!!!

After all this amazing display of technical and artistic skill Hype Master Jun took the stage to present our contenders EU's FNC and LPL's IG, and then lead the way for what we were all here for the match to decide who will be crowned as the best team of the world and lift the Summoner's Cup, so as our dear Hype Master says... ARE YOU READY!? AREEEEEE YOOOOOOOUUUUUUUU REAAAAAAAADYYYYYYYYYYYY!?

Game 1 was a game of control at first but it all began to roll down in favor of IG when IG Ning ganked the mid lane to secure the first blood against FNC Capsat 10 minutes and then again along with his team at minute 12, however,FNC wanted to strike back and FNC Broxah went to top lane to gank successfully IG TheShy at minute 13, this led to a scrappy fight in the river for the Rift Herald where IG secured it after IG JackyLove took over the skirmish and the rest of the team chased FNC to death
At minute 17 IG wasn't going to stop and they went as a five-man squad to gank FNC Bwipo in the bot lane to take two turrets with the help of the Rift Herald they secured earlier finishing the push killing three more people from FNC, FNC Caps wanted revenge so he chased IG TheShy but it took so much time to kill him that the rest of IG was all over Baron, FNC try to stop them but IG turned back and three members of the European squad fell
At minute 24 a divided fight took place, in one side IG Ning and IG JackyLove killed an isolated FNC Caps while in the mid lane the rest of the teams where fighting, IG TheShy was slain but his sacrifice made possible for the rest of his team to kill four more members of FNC, at minute 26 it was all over for FNC when IG destroyed the top inhibitor turret and then after the five members of the EU team, finishing the game at a 6 - 21 score and a victory for IG

Game 2 began in a similar way, IG Ning went to the top lane at minute 5 to gank FNC Bwipo it looked like he was going to get away but a Flash + Body Slam sentenced FNC's top laner to give First Blood to IG and as the previous game he visited the crime scene a minute after but this time the kill was secured by IG TheShy
He wanted to be the star of the game and IG Ning went mid lane this time an almost killed FNC's support but a missed Explosive Cask and the presence of FNC Broxah turned the fight around but IG's jungler managed to get away with a single digit health bar, with the advantage ***FNC Broxah dropped in the top lane, there he ganked IG TheShy with the help of FNC Bwipo but IG's top laner almost got a trade kill, IG Ning wanted revenge for his teammate so he did the same as his first gank, Flash + Body Slam and it worked perfectly
At minute 13 it was tie to fight for an Infernal Drake, FNC started it but the pressure from the enemy team was too much and that made possible for IG Ning to steal it with a Smite and the fight begun and finished in an instant with a flank by IG Baolan and a perfect Explosive Cask that separated FNC, this game was a blood bath, at minute 26 IG JackyLove and IG TheShy took down FNC Bwipo but FNC took this oportunity to secure the Baron for themselves but it was no use because the rest of the Chinese squad arrived and killed the rest of FNC, the end came at minute 32 when IG JackyLove send FNC Caps to the fountain but the hard way, with the rest of IG already inside FNC's base they killed everyone but FNC Rekless who watch as the Nexus fell in front of his own eyes giving the victory to IG who stompthem with a dominant score of 6 - 22

For this game 3 FNC Bwipo was replaced for FNC Zoas in the top lane, but the action started in the top lane when IG Baolan overextended and FNC Caps punished him rightfully to get himself the First Blood, but a few minutes later IG took revenge when ***FNC Hylissang tried to do a tower dive and IG JackyLove was ready to turn that around, at minute 4 FNC Caps displayed his skills when he got ganked by 3 members of IG and managed to get out alive and leave the enemies at low health, just a minute later FNC Zoas took a kill against IG TheShy when ***FNC Broxah appeared in the top lane
At minute 6 FNC's bot lane and mid lane got into trouble when IG pushed the go button with IG Ning ganking bot taking care of FNC's support and IG TheShy visiting mid after a fight between mid laners, at minute 11 a hectic fight took place in the mid lane, FNC Caps was caught out of position which let IG to punish them but FNC's kiting was too good and FNC Broxah took one kill but at the same time ***IG TheShy took one for himself as well and the European team was array with the Chinese squad after them who took two more kills, ***IG JackyLove was a fed monster at minute 17 having a score of 8/0/3 and was still collecting kills everywhere but in minute 20 hope came back to the side of FNC when FNC Broxah stole the Baron from IG's hands
But that hope was short-lived when a couple of fight in the bot lane gave IG the advantage once again and their superior teamfighting skills obliterated FNC letting them the enemy base for themselves as a victory gift because they secure the win, giving the LPL, China and IG their FIRST WOLRD CHAMPIONSHIP!!!

It is the end of it all, almost two months and 24 teams from around the world fought for the World Championship but only one achieve to remain as the top team and it was Invictus Gaming from China's LPL, a totally packed stadium and over 200 million viewers around the whole world watch how they were crowned as the best team in the world accompanied by joy and tears from the members of the team

Heeeyooo.... what an amazing post, Franz! I really like that you've been diligently writing about this tournament for months. And now to see the conclusion, presented beautifully with nice, shineyyyyy gifs <3.
Grats on the curie =).
It was an amazing trip, I'm beyond glad you enjoy it, it means a lot to me, that's the main reason I do this =) Thanks for all your kind words and support!!!
Great analysis!Unfortunately Caps trolled by not playing ap control mages.
FNC Caps is an amazingly gifted player but this tournament was pretty inconsistent, he wasn't the rock FNC needed, but perhaps is because of excatly what you said, he is insanely strong with control mages, I can see a bright future for him in League but this wasn't his year but IG Rookies'
Humanity should begin to consider videogames as the 8th art.
Every day the amount of gamers in the world is more and the battle to be the best in all aspects is admirable. LOL is one of the most popular games of the moment along with overwacth. I'm not a gamer but I understand and know everything about it. that's what art is about: understanding and appreciating ...
My brother is the one who shows me the presentations they make in the tournaments, I don't know why he had not shown me any of this. Thanks for sharing Bro
I guess considering videogame art is just a matter of time, just wait for the older generation to die out acknowledge the amount of effort and how everyone can express themselves through videogames, but I don't lose any sleep if some people still think videogames are just games, in some aspects they just are but they are beautiful games except falppy bird, that shit was a disgrace
What the hell dude! How much time did you need to edit this post? The editing is crazy! All the source links and pull-left, pull-right stuff. You've done some hard work here! Well deserved curie upvote! Funny that you're also a curator :D Btw one question - is there a way how could I become a curator? what's the process. I've been taking part in Pay it Forward initiative lately where we dig out underappreciated posts and reward them. And I totally enjoy the process looking for those and feel I'm also quite good at it (hahah no shame in self appreciation :D). So I kinda thought I might enjoy doing something with Curie as well.
And about your post - it's crazy how big business gaming has become. I remember 10 years ago, it was nowhere near to this. At least not in Europe. I'm not a big fan myself, but I like to watch highlights of those openoing ceremonials you also shared. IT's just pure madness haha :D
Since I redact and edit at the same time, I spent like 3 or 4 days doing it but that's because I was really busy with other things, long post like this I can do it in 12 hours if do it in one go
Well, you can go to the Discord Server and ask a mentor to do it, most of them have programs and they train you to do it, but as you have experience in the curation gig maybe it will be easier for you!
That's the most amazing part, you saw all of that, with moving platforms and enhanced reality pop stars? It's nuts! When this tournament began 8 years ago it wasn't even its own event and now look at that, totally crazy.
Thank you so much for your comment man, I really appreciated, I'm so glad you enjoyed my post!
Oh ok..cool, lemme do m thesis defense next week and once I;m uni free, I'll contact some mentor on the discord. i'm already on the server anyway.
And to your question. Yes and no. I've seen it but didn't really pay attention to it. I'm a coder soo I have a brief overview of which games are popular and what makes them popular and what kind of tournaments are taking place. But I'm not a gamer at all so I don't reeally pay attention to it. But just that brief overview I have is enough to see the boom in the last couple of years.
Thanks for the info man!
This final was to easy for the chinese team, wasn't exciting at all
In a way yeah, a 3-0 stomp is never as exciting as a 5 game series, game 3 was the closest with that Baron steal but that was everything FNC had to offer, but I don't know man those Chinese fans seemed pretty excited to me
