Greate game - Pillars Of Eternity
Pillars Of Eternity is primarily a new fantasy world. Eora is a frightening, darker world than the colourful Dungeons & Dragons. The story itself manoeuvres between a fairly light Baldur's Gate and a much heavier Planescape Torment. Bloody murders, hanging on trees, disgusting fantasies of the rich - these events will be the order of the day in this title.
The player's task is to develop the plot, solve side quests and develop characters. In the new RPG games we only create a character. The advantage of Pillars Of Eternity is not only the visual creation of the character. You can choose from a number of options described below.
At the beginning we choose one of the races: human, elfa, dwarf, aumauanine, arlanine (as for me it's just a Hobbit) and a semi-divine being. The representatives of the latter are children of divine beings or demons. A player who decides to follow this path must first determine whether he wants to be associated with death, fire, the moon or nature. The next step is to choose a posture, profession, e.g.: thief, magician. We also need to set the parameters of our character such as: strength, power, condition, dexterity, wisdom, perception. The basis for this genre is of course the choice of skills, talents, proficiency in using weapons, e.g.: short sword, long sword, axe, bow, etc. We have at our disposal 11 classes of characters: singer, monk, warrior, paladin, druid, magician, enigmatist, hunter and so on.
In Pillars Of Eternity it is not boring. As in the case of Baldur's Gate or IceWind Dale, we have a lot of books, stories and hundreds of dialogues to read. The advantage is also the possibility to create (besides your own hero) other companions. During the game, you can hire a companion in a tavern, for example, and at this point we play the role of "creator". During the journey, of course, we meet other heroes whom we can recruit. We may not necessarily succeed - depending on how we conduct the conversation, the hero will join us or not, and may even become our enemy. In the game we have a huge amount of side quests at our disposal, thanks to which we can gain magical items, gold. A strong point of the game, and also a novelty is the possibility of imprisoning the defeated thug in our fortress, which we gain at some stage of the game. Since I have already mentioned the fortress, we have another novelty in cRPG here. After conquering the fortress we can expand it, build higher walls, watchtowers, stronger gates and recruit ordinary soldiers. The better our fortress, the harder it will be for our opponent to get it. As in the case of Baldur's Gate 2 "Shadows of Amn" having the property in the form of real estate we will receive, collect taxes and solve the problems of the nearby area as a lord of audiences. Another unique solution is to create shops, weapon shops, magic and workshops in the fortress, a chapel is also available, etc. In workshops we can improve weapons, and in herbalists we can buy ingredients to create a potion for our own use. The fortress also has its own dark story, but I won't tell you about it because I don't want to spoil the fun.
Pillars Of Eternity is absolutely not a schematic game. When we have another mission to complete, we are curious and even at times excited. Wondering what is hidden in this forest? Will I come home with a full pannier, or will I get some powerful weapon? What enemies will I meet?
The strong point of the game is a well-developed and transparent fight. We have at our disposal a wide range of weapons for distance and close combat. At the beginning of the game we become the owners of ordinary weapons without any special features. Only during the game will we be able to create the weapon of our dreams, which will be able to strike our opponents with fire or lightning, and this is not the end of the possibilities in modifications. The second strong point is magic, curses and blessings, which we have in our fords. Thanks to this, the game is much more interesting and the fight is a challenge for your team. Even if you have an experienced, strong team with a "cool" weapon, you can recommend it at the least expected moment. Why does this happen? Because some opponents are sensitive to one single weapon, spell or element, and your team doesn't have one at the moment. You can beat, smoke or chop it, it won't work, you will only hit the wall with your head.
To sum up, what is Pilars Of Eternity? For veterans, the cRPG will be a tasty homemade cutlet with nice additions and additions. And for the younger generation of players a breath of fresh air. Nevertheless, it is a must-have title for every RPG enthusiast. Pillars of Eternity is unrivalled among modern RPG titles. It provides us with tens of hours of gameplay (in hardcore mode, over 100 hours). The authors "took out" all the best solutions from the older titles, added something from each other, and even listened to the voices of the fans.
