EtherBots.io: A fun Robot Building and Fighting Game Dapp
Have you played Etherbots yet? This combines the craze of collecting digital assets/tokens like CryptoPunks, CryptoKitties or EtherGoo.
The unique parts is that instead of just being a trading game, you can assemble a unique robot(there are a few million potential combinations) and then battle them on the blockchain. The mechanic is extremely rewarding to watch play out. The potential for appreciation in value of the parts is also possible as the only way new parts can be created is through forging shards(you earn 5 for a loss 7 for a win or 350 for dismantling a part) for a new part at the cost of 500 shards. This results in a decreasing supply of parts so as more people join in and wish to assemble their bot, the price of the parts should also increase as a result of the inherit scarcity.
What I like:
- Opening crates to get a new part or see aftermatch rewards is pretty exciting and the animations are well done. Reminiscent of OverWatch or other "loot-box" reward games.
- Large variety of parts and flexibility in combination. You can combine any parts from the 4 categories to create your machine.
- A fair combat system where each player locks in their moves before playing with a nice battle display to watch your ultimate victory or defeat.
