Cry of Fear (CO-OP) - Horror PC game REVIEW + New gaming channel introduction!

or HIF is the name of my new youtube channel. I already own 2 channels but this is the first one about pc gaming. It is something that I wanted to do for years and finally I got all the equipment and time needed to film,edit and play.
Basically my friend and I try to have fun while cooperatively playing interesting pc games through pure laughs, tears and chaos!

History

Cry of Fear is a PC game made by Team Psykskallar. What I noticed in the game menu is that it looks like it was built on the Half-Life 2 engine and I was right. Initially it was just a mod for Half-Life 2 before it became a standalone game. It has a "mostly-positive" review on Steam so after looking at some screenshot and gameplay, we chose it for our first youtube video ever.

Gameplay

The gameplay is solid, given the Half-Life 2 engine was originally designed in 2004. so the graphics are a bit limited. If you ever played Counter-Strike source, and you are used to those controls, this is how it feels like.
We noticed that the "co-op campaign" has a different story than the singleplayer one but nevertheless we enjoyed it.
From various looking monsters (like upside down flying bed with a monster straped on it spiting poison) to too many melee battles. Some enemies can kill you with one hit and it takes 20 hits to bring them down.

I dont know what was the monster designer was smoking, but he was creative!

You can check out our gameplay video of this game, but the commentary is in Croatian language as we made the channel for the Balkan area (slavic language) of Europe.

The game is hard. Im not a noob at FPS games but obviously this was hard for me. There are some laggy monsters, impossible stages and lack of ammunition througout the game, but overall, with at least one or two friends and a few beers, this can be a lot of fun! I suggest a old school lan party ;)

In consideration about grading I take a lot of thing: year of production, team budget, gameplay, graphics, bugs, price etc.

Overall assessment : 6.0/10
