That's one way to look at it, however, should you find great items, you could help everyone out by distributing those items and making the entire team stronger. Everything in life has its ying and yang. There may not actually be any absolutes, but rather only degrees of perception. In the end, I think people will form their opinion based on the outcome, which is unknown until it happens.
