Monopoly: Realistic Edition
Set-up:
Played with four people.
Instead of rolling, everyone draws a straw. One long straw, one medium straw, and one slightly shorter than the last, and a short straw (player one, two, three and four, respectively).
Player 4 starts off $1000 in debt and immediately loses.
Player 1 starts with $4500, three monopolies, and Park Place.
Player 2 who draws the medium straw starts off with $1500 and immediately owes $1001 to Player 1. They start off with Baltic, which is mortgaged.
Player 3 starts with $200 and no property.
Jail:
Player 1 doesn't go to jail. However, if they land on the "Go to Jail" space, they may send another player to jail, as long as that player is on one of the spots Player 1 owns.
Expansion:
If Player 2 or 3 own houses, Player 1 can pay them $300 to demolish those houses and take their Monopoly. If the other player refuses, Player 1 may demolish the houses anyway and hit the respective player over the head with the box. After this, that player is sent to jail.
Loans:
Player 2 and 3 can borrow money from Player 1, which must be paid back the next turn at the interest rate of Player 1's choosing.
Regulations:
Player 1 can pay the bank $500 to violate any given rule. This option is not available to Player 2 or 3.
Winner:
The game is won by Player 1, but everyone else must play, anyway.
The consolation prize for Player 2 and 3 is bootstraps.
