Stellaris: Apocalypse. The rebalance that broke the game

in #games7 years ago

Slowly building up new paid additions, Stellaris before my eyes took shape in one of the best, if not the best space 4X-strategy. So far, each such update has brought a lot of new and added depth and variety to the game: there was a feeling that no party would repeat the previous one.

In Apocalypse, they promised to make a re-balance of some obsolete aspects of the release, add superclass ships, and at the same time revise the mechanics of space wars as a whole. It seemed that the addition would be no worse than its predecessors, but after thirty-five hours and five games I had to admit: expectations did not materialize.
NB: The text is written for the same fans of the game, as I myself, so I apologize in advance for the abundance of special terms.
