#AsdruReview (Gamescom special): A 5th Devil is on the horizon

With the gameplay trailer of Devil May Cry 5, we are FINALLY moving forward from the horrific remake, DmC (It did have great things, but the Dante on it WAS. NOT. DANTE!), we are getting back our silver hair half demon alongside the star of the 4th entry in the franchise, Nero. This time around, they are teaming up again for a new wave of enemies.

The video only shows us Nero (a bit heartbreaking but let’s continue), using what looks like different robotic arms, each with its own abilities. It also lets us see our first boss in the game, and let me tell you… He takes the sentence “eating with your stomach” to a whole new level.

The combos continue to look cool, especially with the use of the robo arms (Roborms?). Now having said that, the video does tend to last what feels like a lifetime, simply because Nero isn’t Dante. It’s not a bad thing considering that DMC4 was a good game and Nero was a good addition, but that’s the problem right there: He’s good, but not the reason why we would want to buy the game. Dante is.

Having said that, it does bring some new features and a huge question: What had happened with Nero’s demon arm? Well, the developers are saving the answer for when this 5th game is released.

Overall, it’s a nice little amuse bouche of the game (Amuse bouche is a single, bite-sized appetizer), cool graphics, a badass addition and a cool new look to the new female character, Nico (which add to the representation of ethnicity that is being asked of), it’s a good start to the return of one of the most loved sagas of the 00’s.

Score >>3.5/5. Devil May Cry 5 comes out on March 8, 2019, for Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and Windows.

Here's the gameplay. Enjoy!
