El primer videojuego en ver la luz y el que posiblemente cambió el mundo sin poder dar vuelta atrás, no fue otro que SpaceWar, el cual dio origen a un nuevo mundo por explorar y descubrir, aunque, no fue planeado ni concebido como videojuego, si fue considerado como tal. Nace de un proyecto por parte del estudiante Steve Russell y realizado para el instituto tecnológico de massachusetts, este primer contacto con la primitiva industria del videojuego usaba mecánicas simples, pero que ya incluían las fisicas dentro de su código, como tal SpaceWar fue el primer videojuego y además del género shooter, este consiste en que hay dos naves en pantalla las cuales deben ser destruidas entre sí, aunque simple su concepto y gráficos, ya manejaba físicas avanzadas como la coalición entre naves, interacción con el entorno o hasta incluso contemplaba el hecho de quedarse sin munición.

Este primer juego creado en la década de los 60s, no fue pensado para convertirse en algo revolucionario ni mucho menos; de hecho ni llegó a ser comercializado. Fue planteado como un simple experimento de parte de Steve Russell el cual quería demostrar la potencia del cálculo aplicado en conceptos abstractos aparte de las matemática. No obstante, este primer videojuego disputa su lugar con “Tennis for two”, el cual fue diseñado en el 1958 y como su nombre lo indica es un juego de tenis simple pensado para jugar entre dos.
Años más tarde de la invención de estos primeros videojuegos, se disparó el desarrollo mundial de parte de otros entusiastas por experimentar en este mundillo. Aunque, como dato curioso, todos los videojuegos en años posteriores fueron realizados como experimentos por distintas universidades.
The first videogame to see the light and the one that possibly changed the world without being able to turn back, was none other than SpaceWar, which gave rise to a new world to explore and discover, although it was not planned or conceived as a videogame, if it was considered as such. Born from a project by the student Steve Russell and made for the technological institute of massachusetts, this first contact with the primitive video game industry used simple mechanics, but already included the physics within its code, as such SpaceWar was the first video game and in addition to the shooter genre, this is that there are two ships on screen which must be destroyed among themselves, although simple concept and graphics, and handled advanced physics as the coalition between ships, interaction with the environment or even contemplated the fact of running out of ammunition.
This first game created in the decade of the 60s, was not thought to become something revolutionary nor much less; in fact nor did it get to be commercialized. It was conceived as a simple experiment by Steve Russell which wanted to demonstrate the power of calculus applied in abstract concepts other than mathematics. However, this first video game disputes its place with "Tennis for two", which was designed in 1958 and as its name indicates is a simple tennis game designed to play between two.
Years later of the invention of these first videogames, the world-wide development of part of other enthusiasts for experimenting in this world was triggered. Although, as a curious fact, all video games in later years were made as experiments by different universities.
