DOTA 2 - A Real Addiction
Hello guys !
Today i opened my account to a surprise , my previous post was upvoted . Considering it was my first post , i was not sure that it would even be viewed . SO , thanks for contributing to it guys . That's the only accomplishment i may have achieved in last one year besides winning games in DOTA 2 . It may sound sad but it's really not , as i enjoyed playing it . DOTA 2 is an amazing game guys .It's nothing less than an addiction and all of you who call themselves a gamer should play it .
Even i am not a gaming guy and i am telling you this . I was never a fan of most popular games except for warcraft and age of empires and that's where my interest for DOTA 2 came from .
It is a free to play game present on Steam , a digital distribution platform providing with multiplayer gaming , video streaming and social networking services . And developed by Valve Corporation . The same company that developed Half Life , Portal , Counter Strike etc. It was designed by Ice Frog and i am not sure about you guys, but i strongly feel that it is a cool name . And its is kinda phenomenal that ice really did had it's cooling effect on a name here .
You might not know this but DOTA 2 was the mostly played game on steam in 2013 which holded it's positon till 2017 and at a certain period of time the total no. of concurrent users of DOTA 2 were greater than the users of the top 10 games altogether on steam .
DOTA is a MOBA (Multiplayer Online Battle Arena) which is a short form for Defense Of The Ancients and consisting of around a dozen more than a hundred heroes , played between 2 teams consisting of 5 players each . Each hero has a different set of skills and different roles to play , depending upon the game every hero may have single or multiple tasks to do . The objective of the game is to destroy the opposite team's ancient i.e base .This may sound like an easy game guys and you all might be like " we got a hero , we got some of his skills , we just have to use them and win the game . It's easy ". But trust me guys it's really not and it's coming from a guy who spent every minute of his last one year, aside from the time consumed in daily tasks, playing DOTA . Every single minute of the game matters , every action you take matters , every skill you do matter . Your positioning , your timing , anything you do in the game matters and it just doesn't effects you . It effects the whole scenario for your team . And if you are a DOTA enthusiast you must be familiar with 6 million dollar slam . Here is the video.

As i said every hero has different roles to play . So, here are some of the roles :
Carry
The damage-dealing nucleus of a team, the carry is often viewed as the most important and generally difficult role to play. That's the part most of the players really like to play .
Support
The role of the support is to aid and protect the carry in the early game, as well as to ensure that the team has enough vision over the map to safely move around without fear of getting ganked.
Jungler
The early game is all about farming for gold and there’s hordes of it to be prised from the cold, dead hands of the various creeps scattered about the jungle, which makes up most of the space in-between the lanes. Because these creeps respawn at regular intervals and because there is limited farming to be had in the lanes, a team will sometimes pick a jungler who can exclusively farm the jungle creeps.
Solo
Each team should have at least one lane which is occupied by a lone hero. If a team has a jungler then they will most likely have two heroes going solo. Because of this, it is difficult to talk about it as one single role so it has been divided up into two sub-roles.
Solo Mid heroes occupy the middle lane. Because the space between the opposing mid towers is fairly short, these heroes don’t need to worry too much about escaping any ganks and will often focus on farming creeps and trading blows.
Solo Off-Lane heroes tend to be the most difficult and frustrating heroes to play. Off-laners usually have a lot of speed and their early-game abilities tend to be escape mechanics such as fast sprints, invulnerability, or the ability to teleport over short distances.
Roamers
They have very little to do with farming . Their main role is to put pressure on the opposite team by ganking and constantly harassing them and putting them under the fear of getting ganked and not let them become stable on their position . I personally prefer roaming as i don't have to constantly farm and i can be the part of most of the fights .
