I wanted to play L.A Noire at one point but watching streams made me decide not to, don't remember exactly why. But as for something similar if you ever find Mafia 1 and 2, not sure if 3 is released for 360, you can give them a try, these should be pretty cheap to buy if found.
I replayed them last year, the remastered version for PC, had so much fun. The games being pretty old have simple mechanics but for their time I'd say they were a little ahead.

Since I got LA Noire with the Xbox 360 console, I didn't do any research before playing it. I chose one of the games at random and this was it. Having played for so many hours, I'd like to reach the end before moving on to something else but knowing that it's probably another 4 or 5 hours seems to be putting me off.
I think I've got Mafia 1 or 2 on the PS3. That console's in storage whilst we have some work done on the house but I'll check once I get everything set up again in mid-January. For now though, I'll find some determination and complete LA Noire before choosing what to play next 🙂
I think that sometimes the simpler mechanics of older games makes them more enjoyable. Difficult to say - I think that Settlers II is the only remastered version of a game I've played!
