Weekly result thread: played a mix of 2nl and 5nl cash games + spin & gos
Hi Alex here,
I didn't get too much cash game volume in last week but it was 1k hands so not too bad. here are the results.
I managed to bring a small profit from the 5nl games. However, my allin ev was terrible and something that is still bugging me a little, but I can't do anything except keep learning and developing my ranges against the different villains that I will come up against. Some of the hands I played were very terribly executed in my opinion and unfortunately those just happened to be in most of the big pots I played.
Hand 1: Yes I am a fucking button clicker
Hand 2: Bluffing whales doesn't work!
Hand 3: Trapping on a wet board
There weren't really anymore interesting hands other than coolers ( pots where the opponent or I are always going to lose a lot of money) and obvious spots.
Later in the week I decided to play some spin&gos on pokerstars. For those that don't know what a spin&go is; it is a 3 person single table tournament where the prizepool is a random jackpot ranging from 2x - 10000x of the initial buyin. They are really fun and addictive but they are also very mentally crushing sometimes due to the massive variance in them that can cause 200 buyin downswings.
I played 50 games at the $1 buyin spin&gos last week and was kind of pleased with my results. Unfortunately I managed to run massively below expectation. However, on the upside my Chip EV was pretty good.
I've only played 127 games at the $1 spin level but they seem pretty soft so I'm thinking of keeping on grinding spins for a while and seeing where it goes.
On a finishing note I am not a hardcore grinder and poker is just a hobby for me so switching between cash games and spin&gos might not be the best thing to if I want to get better and move up in cash games but I just want to have fun. Also I would love for some feedback on my hands if anyone wants to drop the hammer on me.
Edit: Also I'd love it if any poker players would share their results as well.
Post your 6max stacks and/or 9 max stats (RFI, 3b, cbet each street, fold to cbet each street, etc), can go through them and say what I think is off

overall:
As you can see I haven't actually put that much volume in although I've done a lot of work on conceptual learning which I enjoy much more.
