The future on a petri dish

Scientists have been able to encode a .GIF file into the #DNA of a bacterium and after a few generations they were able to decode the same file from the DNA of their descendants, opening up a new perspective on life; not as a chemical agglutinate, but as chains of #information.

In parallel, we have the #Blockchain #technology, which is changing the world (or is about to change), functioning as a large #decentralized network, capable of validating information through a giant, and almost fail-safe, collective #brain.

In addition to it, we have large-scale #quantum processing becoming reality, extreme miniaturization, the discovery of new superconducting materials and the artificial intelligence that, according to experts, is about to reach the #singularity.

Through a handshake, in a very near future (applying Moore's Law), we will be able to collect and process data as if we were all an immense collective computer, validating and propagating information across generations.

We will be able to do financial #transactions with the touch of a naked finger or hug and carry property titles, documents and security keys for all sorts of possible #gadgets and services in our DNA, as well as other #applications that only an #exponential #future can create.

No, this is not just madness in my restless mind. Although it sounds utopian (or dystopian to some), if I am able to piece together and imagine such applications being just a #futurism lover, it is almost certain that one day mankind will be able to realize them.

Obviously, it's a little scary to think about such a future, and, of course, much can be developed with bad intentions.

However, like everything else in this #life, it is preferable to always look for the half-full glass, and I already see this overflowing.
