Why Are We Here

It's a question that goes through everyone's mind at some point. Why are we here? What is my purpose? What am I supposed to do? And I think you might already know the answer. It may be clouded by the thousands of thoughts running through your head each day, but on an instinctual level we know why we're here. We know what's right and we know what's wrong. The battle we face is falling victim to doing what we know is easy. We let our fears drive us instead our dreams. We self doubt and talk ourselves out of being the next great thing. Look around at all the Martin Luther King Jrs and Harvey Milks of the world, all the Elon Musks and Steve Jobs, what do they all have in common? Perseverance. A will to fight despite being in a world that's telling them they're wrong. Our world is changing. Some would say for the better, and they wouldn't be wrong. But in many ways we're digressing. There's anger being spread throughout this world. And if history has taught us anything, it's nothing good can come out of anger and hate. It is our duty as an ihabitor of this great planet to keep her safe. To keep each other safe. Imagine where we'd be if no one ever stood up to what was wrong. The rights that many of us have gained over the years would be lost. I know it's scary to stand up for what is right, especially when the outcome isn't clear or it's not tangible. But we owe it to ourselves, we owe it to our ancestors who have fought for a better life for us. It's now our turn to do the same for our future generations. Give them a better world than what we have today. When struck with the question; what should I do? Do what is right. Do what you know in your heart is right. It may not always be what is easy, in fact sometimes it might be the hardest thing to do. But it's the only choice that will allow you to sleep at night. Nothing good has ever come to those who choose to do wrong to their fellow man or act selfishly for their own personal desires. We are here in this together. We should start acting like it.
