Future Home At the Edge of the Sea
I had this amazing dream last night.
You know how dreams are, you can't fully capture all the details, but there were aspects of it that were amazing, so I would like to share.
The dream was the future, maybe 10 or 20 years from now.
I was a guest at a private mansion, and this person's home was on the edge of the sea, with his own personal beach.
It was a dinner party and the guests were allowed to explore the mansion and the property.
Suddenly, many of the guests went running into the other room so I followed.
They were stunned to see a large window, and sliding door that took them out into the backyard area. This area had a giant, man-made river flowing by with absolutely pristine fresh water. It was not a swimming pool with tile. It was a natural looking river, but clearly fed with water that was being pumped. It was huge, enough for serious river rafting. The water was controllable so that you could dial in what level of rapids you wanted.
Another thing that was blowing my mind was that this water was fresh, right next to the ocean.
The owner had installed some sort of really high tech desalinization system that was taking ocean water, making it fresh, and feeding his huge river.
The guests were crying with joy, because in this future, rivers were no more. All of them had been completely polluted by broken pipelines, toxic spills, super storms.
It was like visiting the candy factory described in Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. I had the same feeling of childhood wonder, only it wasn't candy I was admiring, it was fresh, clean, water, in such abundance.
NASA has predicted a megadrought that could last 35 years.
In the future, water will be more precious than oil and only those rich enough will have abundant, clean, fresh water.
Evil companies like Nestle will have purchased up all the land and water rights and will be selling us the water in bottles. It will cost a lot to drink water.
We will be needing brilliant inventors and investors to solve the water desalination problem and it won't be a company like Nestle that gives you the golden ticket.
