PhD candidate in Lesbian Poetry reluctantly accepts $300k grant as she abandons life-long goal of starting her own business
Danish PhD candidate Anna Jepsen (31) was left with mixed feelings as she finally made the decision to put away her plans of opening a business in the lesbian poetry analysis field last week. Her faculty at the University of Copenhagen showed great determination in keeping Jepsen, luring her to the prestigious position through a sizeable grant allocated for PhDs promoting projects that do away with gender stereotypes.
Letting go of her plan to make lesbian poetry analysis profitable, Anna felt an obligation to choose the option that would do the most good in the end, not the option that would give her the most money, even though she had been planning her business for for as long as she could remember. After 11 years as a student, her lesbian poetry analytical skills were described as spectacular.
Jepsen herself said in a comment that her competence would be very valuable in the private lesbian poetry sector, and that for many years she had been looking forward to monetizing her analyses. However, she stated she would not let money and fame capture her soul, and with reluctance, she unselfishly decided to take the $300k and stay in academia for 4 more years.
I know someone in real life that did his masters in "history of female boxing".
Got into solid debt for it.
No guidance from society at all on that "career" choice.
Excellent post . Hope you give us more funny content
