Choices, Conundrums, and Calamities- How to not run an away mission- U.S.S. Minnowprize Logs
Sammosk and Stitchybitch face a bit of a dilemma.
One of many things that we have in common is pretty bad anxiety in general, social definitely being one that we share on the anxiety wheel of misfortune.
I mean, it is almost kind of cute. Put us in a crowded place together and we are both sweating, swearing, and attempting to maneuver crowds while minimizing as much physical contact with strangers as possible. Shooting gazes filled with mutual hate in each other's understanding direction. Hissing under our breath and darting towards the nearest exit with expediency. Huffing and sighing in unison and sometimes even growling. weaving through crowds of people.
(Also, if you are the kind of person that abruptly stops in the middle of a busy walkway in the store to have a conversation, you are the worst.)
Seriously.
Just even a trip to the mall, upon it looming into view we both go completely silent while contemplating the special kind of hell we are about to encounter. Not even the lure of more drones or toys can even draw us at this point. Hands fumbling for the closest cigarette we stumble into the heat and noise of the largest carpark ever.
Upon leaving we are awash in a sea of drivers impatient to get home with new wins as we climb into our own tin box. Seatbelt clips like tiny red-hot irons when attempting to lash ourselves into the seat. The entire car interior is hot enough to bake cookies on, compounding upon our anxiety sweat to proportions that are unholy.
Cooked to perfection in the hellishly hot Australian summer that is winter everywhere else.
So you can only imagine the kind of struggle we are enduring attempting to come up with a plan for New Years. As a new couple, we want to go out and attend the events. Have a kiss at midnight in a memorable location. Make it special.
But then... we remember that there will be PEOPLE. And not just a normal amount of them. They will be crawling out of every abode and trudging through the street, filled with booze and merriment. We want to share the experience of the insane fireworks in Sydney but it will be ass to tits for miles and miles... and miles. As will be all the local pubs and leagues clubs.
We are both ticking away the hours to midnight looking at each other every 10 minutes saying "I unno... what do YOU want to do? Would it be worth it?" as tiny beads of sweat gather like dew at the mere thought.
In all likelihood, we may end up staying home, closing the drapes, and hiding in a blanket fort filled with cider.
BUT if we do end up doing something exciting, we will definitely have an awesome post for you tomorrow! Maybe. Possibly... If we don't get too drunk.
HAPPY NEW YEAR!
