HAPPENINGS IN MY ENVIRONMENT: THE WEATHER CONDITION

Nigeria, a country in the western coast of Africa, has basically two weather conditions – the wet and dry seasons. The wet season (which is the rainy season) starts from January and last for about nine months, its ends somewhat September leaving the rest of the year to be sunny, hot and dry. The dry season runs across October, November, and December with harmattan at its peak in December. At this time, the environment is always very hot with intense heat experience everywhere, even the homes becomes quite unconducive for one to stay in especially at nights. This gets the people that cannot afford their homes air-conditioned spending reasonable amount of times outside spreading and lying on mats to chill themselves the cold breeze outside until about 11 pm or 12 am where they retire to their beds inside, this time the rooms will be some how cold for one to stay in.
This has been the situation of things all year round, but the intensity of the heat this last December and early January this year was so much and this got the people wondering and lots of issue raised.
Nigerians in the other way can be very dramatic and fun loving set of people, we are very good at turning every slit scenario or happenings into comedy and laugh over it.
In recent times, and because of this intense heat, post like this has been trending in the social media:

8th January 2018 actually marked the end of the intense heat and scotching weather here in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State of Nigeria, where this prayer “…..Send down the rain…..” was finally answered. It rain on at the early hours of that morning and seriously there were jubilations on the land.
Today 9th January the weather is conducive and friendly
HURRAY…………!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
