Once a Threat, Now an Aspiration.

Chris Farley’s motivational speaker character attempted to scare kids straight by threatening they’d be ‘living in a van down by the river’ if they didn't change their ways. Of course, that was over 20 years ago. Now a tiny home by a scenic waterway has become something to aspire to.

For years now, networks have made it hip to live small with shows such as 'Tiny House Nation', 'Tiny House Hunters', 'Tiny House, Big Living', and 'Tiny House Builders'. You even get bonus street cred if your tiny house is mobile and off grid (a.k.a van).

Oh, how things change can change in just a single generation. A van down by the river does sound much better than living in a car in a Walmart parking lot.
