MemeLogic - I Don't Recall
Ever Giving Consent
I thought about it today, I don't remember ever agreeing to the social contract where the government is allowed to take my property.
I'm bringing this up because someone told me this today, taxation was the social contract I agreed to when I was born, and if I don't like it I should just move. Well none of us decided to be born and not anyone alive decided to agree to this imaginary social contract. What really blew my mind was that people honestly believe that taxation is morally just.
The government will lock you up if you go to someone's house and take their money, but when they do it this is somehow perfectly fine. Just think about it for a second, now imagining trying to explain this to say an alien. They would look at you and laugh, what's worse is that your great great grand father or grand mother would do the exact same thing. There was no income tax 70 years ago, so how did they have road to drive on?
"Government spending is taxation. When you look at this, I've never heard of a poor person spending himself into prosperity; let alone I've never heard of a poor person taxing himself into prosperity." - Arthur Laffer
The government can cover most things like the upkeep of basic roads and services, like the police with just value added tax, but that the problem with greed, you always want more. They come appealing to the emotions of the masses to then rob them blind. I'm mostly referring to my own country, but it applies to all, the more expenses government can add the more can be filtered into there pockets.
"If taxation without consent is robbery, the United States government has never had, has not now, and is never likely to have, a single honest dollar in its treasury. If taxation without consent is not robbery, then any band of robbers have only to declare themselves a government, and all their robberies are legalized." - Lysander Spooner
You're either laughing or you're learning.

The part that irks me is the amount of money that is wasted by government. Pissed away on unnecessary projects, stuffed in their friends back pockets and lining the coffers of exorbitant expense accounts. How many golf vacations does a politition need for Christ sakes?!
At one time taxes were used to pay for public services but not anymore. The problem is that most countries spend more than they take in running a deficit. When you're expenses are more than your potential tax revenues that would normally be a bad thing but we all live in the twilight zone were debt doesn't matter. Until of course it does...
An excellent point you make @morkrock. We have not chosen this way into our life but we are forced into this way by the controlling governments of the world. We are in debt upon birth. From the very second, we are born we become an asset to the government. A way for them to make money off of us as a human being. Whether it be through medical care, food to eat, financial assistance, we are all a commodity for the government. Great post. Have an awesome day.

Nice post. I’m grateful for having you as a friend @morkrock
WOW - 141 SPAM Comments in 4 hours...and counting. Nobody in the whole world read 141 posts and answer that fast..... so you just answer smartass answers.
You will be ending up with nothing if you continue like this. Your Reputation will go down the drain.
This is SPAM - I will start to downvote you til you stop this nonsense.
Regards
@Ramta Reddington - Your worst nightmare
Interesting videos to post with your down vote. I am a little curious if artemis94 would have made any money with lame posts like the one you just flagged if you were not following their activities. I enjoyed the videos, but is atremis94 worth your time and effort?
Hello @Canomad
No, it is not worth the time, effort or money to me personally. I love Steemit so it is pure charity from me and the people that then do not get an Upvote. It cost Steem Power to downvote so others (and me - Curation Reward) get in fact less when I do this.
The reason @Artemis94 and others do this is that Steemit pay the same wherever in the world you are. In some countries 1$ or even some cents are a lot of money. They write hundreds of "clever" comments and get 2-3$ all together.
The problem is that they produce SPAM. If this "industry" get big we will all have a big problem. If it will be 100 SPAM for every valid comment in the future, nobody will have the time to look thru massive SPAM for good comments.
@Artemis finally stopped doing it. So in that way it was successful.
Yours truly
@Ramta Reddington
Congratulations on the successful completion of your endeavor. I guess it was worth at least some time.
A shot of Crown in honor of your continued success. Cheers!
