Facebook Purge

So last night Facebook decided to remove or delete 559 pages and 251 accounts they claim have been spreading misinformation and spam.

Funny how this seems to happen just before the US mid term election, and that the majority of the pages and accounts are of pro-Trump conservatives, anarchists, and those who oppose the progressive left narrative of mainstream media and even Facebook themselves. Facebook claims that "domestic actors" have been creating "fake pages and accounts to attract people with shocking political news,". They are basically using the spam excuse to get rid of anyone who could sway the political opinion of the masses, all to ensure that the democratic party wins the house in the upcoming election which is just a month away. One of the prominent pages that were unpublished was that of Dan Dicks who is also a Steemian and you can find his page here @pressfortruth and I encourage everyone to please pop by his blog and show some support.

I recall warning that this exact kind of tactic would eventually be used, most folks didn't bat an eye when it happened to Alex Jones, but what did they think would happen next? The only way to combat this kind of modern day book burning is to stop stop using social media site let censor ideas they don't line up with their political affiliation. Steemit is definitely the answer, but it is going to take some time to get the masses on board and this is something we have to keep striving for daily.
