@magnifik I invested around $100 every 2 or 3 days into steempower to increase my voting power. I think I invested about a thousand dollars so far. Also I don't upvote everything. I made that mistake when I first started too. The more you upvote the less value your upvote is worth. So you need to be more selective in your upvoting. The more you upvote the longer it takes for your to "recharge" until your upvote becomes more valuable. I hope this helps.
