What a Wonderful World - THANK YOU STEEMIT!

When talking about fundraisers here on Steemit, it is nothing new.

There have been many initiatives out there, in fact many are still alive and right up there, from all the Minnow Support Projects, to the fundraisers helping out people in need.

So, what makes this possible here on Steemit is the crypto aspect, which can be converted to fiat (“cash”) currency.

The way Steemit it used for fundraising is pretty much in line with what is most commonly referred to as “crowdfunding”.
Some might claim that the seven day funding period is a bit short. Yes, it could be, all depends on what we are talking about, from the cause to the figures.

However there is nothing stopping anyone from putting up a new post with an update on the amount raised from the previous week.

So that “seven days is too short a time span” argument just went out the window.

So the “Crowd Funding” idea is more than viable and is being used by all the projects here in Steemit.

Which brings us to the idea of possibly using Steemit to fund (crowdfund) start-ups that are not just based on this here platform. Why not use it for ideas such as “private business start-ups”, “school projects” and so on. The possibilities are unlimited.

Fundraising via “upvotes” is a concept that is excellent.

So apart from the original concept of just “donating”, here on Steemit we all have the ability to help out with our upvotes.
Imagine if every time someone “liked” something somewhere else on the internet that someone in need was helped out!

Well, here it is.

Steemit has made this possible!

@fundraisers shall resteem all posts that have the word “fundraisers” as a one of its TAGs and likewise all funds raised here by resteeming, commenting etc shall go towards @lifesavers . A project where everyone who wants to pitch in can pitch in, but for now, the idea is to get as many fundraising projects out there listed here on our page @fundraisers.

Man, oh man, if every time someone clicked a “like” button out there, if just 0.001 cent went to people who were in need!

What a wonderful world it would be!
