Welcome to another Monday lovely people! We have decided to make this Monday all about art and present to you a lovely project by @anavalecillos called LIENZOS - Help us to realize our short-film that is about the creation of a fiction short film in the horror genre. People behind the project tell us how their passion is not only watching movies but creating them. Let's help them turn their passion into reality.

The movie will be about a young painter called Emile that is interviewed by Olivia, an important journalist. When she comes to dinner at Emile’s family house, she meets the painter’s family, Igor, the father & Elizabeth, Emile’s twin sister. Olivia will get a feeling of some kind of mystery happening inside the house and paintings will start to look too disgusting to her. Just before she is about to get up and leave the dinner, Emile sends her a secret message inside of a painting. We think that sounds interesting, how about you?

The character of Émile is an artist enclosed in a context and a situation. She is transmitting through her paintings what is inside her and her surroundings. The movie talks about the process of discovering your own shadow and rejecting it. Every human being has a dark side with secrets and mysteries but prejudice and hidden potential danger keep them there. The idea behind the film was to talk about themes that are still considered taboo but without prejudice. They also want to create something that has not yet been seen in that genre. Their aim is to move along from the horror & terror genre as the “Scream” and the suspense planes with focusing instead on the provoking the feelings of disgust & desperation in viewers.

Lienzos wants to unite the plastic arts with the audiovisual, based on the work of different authors of romanticism and the baroque, like Goya, Rubens, Vouet, Velázquez, and Everett. They want to obtain an aesthetic treatment based on the era of romanticism, without completely moving away from the present (2018). The characters recreate scenarios and they resemble paintings while the reality is connected with works made by the character. The project wants to work through the images to tell the story with the least amount of dialogues possible, using resources as the paintings, dissected animals, tarot cards and sounds. Locations that transmit mystery, neatness, lust, confusion, and agony will be used all with keeping a minimalist style. A dialogue between the spectator and the image will be created. These people from Venezuela are trying to create this short film and demonstrate that in the darkest days we can wake up and turn the lights on. There is a lot of talent that must be recognized and Venezuela is still a country with talented people.

The project is created by a group belonging to the National Experimental University of the Arts (UNEARTE) of the different mentions like Direction, Production, and Direction of art. They have already made some news and updates so you are free to check their amazing progress so far. Their work speaks for itself and it speaks volumes. They already have more than 50 Backers and there is still time for you to become one of them. Help them to create a successful realization of their audiovisual project.
