The Christmas Outreach

First and foremost let me start by expressing my sincerest gratitude to all our loved ones and supporters both on the blockchain and off the blockchain for helping us continue to realize our dreams and achieve them. The small steems and sbds you continue to send our way helps a lot in preparation of events like this even when it not a solo @bettervision program because we still have to play our parts in the preparations in terms of medications, instruments, volunteer gathering and their feeding.

So as we have already made it known to you guys, it was a mega Christmas charity screening exercise coupled with blood donation to save lives and sight. We had 3 big setups, one at the mall one at luv fm premises at ayigya and the other at Top High. Lets get to know what happened at each point. All the setups were further divided into different sectors, the eye, blood pressure check, blood glucose level, emergency unit, height and the gifts table.

So we started at exactly 8am as pre-informed and had people coming for the various checkups after their window shoppings, stroll at the mall or after buying whatever they came to the mall to get, it was quite fun and exciting to be doing such generous works during the holidays and I must say people who passed by did express their utmost gratitude and their awe and what we are doing. Let me hasten to add that as usual we had our @girlsfoundation and @wafrica representative @mcsamm around to help with activities and to grace us with his presence, the love and support he continue to shower us with is just amazing and we hope that he will continue to do so.

What is @bettervision about?

@bettervision is is a project initiated by @nattybongo and friends to give back to the society the knowledge and skill acquired through the Optometric Studies in Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, Ghana.It is an outreach system where we visit the less privileged communities to offer free eye screening services and education to the people within the community

AIMS AND OBJECTIVES
To reduce or prevent vision loss through diseases such as glaucoma, cataract and refractive errors.

To enlighten the majority of the Ghanaian population about the importance of proper visual care.

To conscientize people on the need for regular eye checks

To get more people to have their wards screened within the Critical periods of a Child’s Vision Development; thus from ages 3 to till about 10 years.

To help the blind and people with low vision live a better life within the society through education of the general public to stop stigmatization.

Our greatest gratitude goes to @fundition @ adollaraday @surfyogi @girlsfoundation @bleepcoin @ackza and @wafrica for helping to make the aims and objectives of @bettervision a reality.
