Hi, my name is Natalie and I first fell in love with my boyfriend in 2008. That is us on a date in 2018 in the picture.

He started having seizures in 2012, the day after his 23rd birthday. The first seizure he had was a grand mal seizure that nearly took his life. He was in the hospital for two weeks and finally was discharged with the diagnosis of epilepsy and was given several prescriptions for medications to stop his seizures.

The medications have never worked. At first they prescribed Vimpat and Keppra, but when he had several more grand mal seizures, then his doctors changed his medicine to Dilantin. When that was also not working they tried another medicine called Lamictal.

All through this 8 years he has continued to have several seizures weekly, and has really been so hard and painful for us both. The failings of any treatment to help us had really set us both into a great depression, I cannot deny. However, I would not give up and finally we found an acupuncturist who came highly recommended, who had worked with people with epilepsy before.

The night before the first session, Alex had 3 seizures. The day of the appointment, he went all day with no seizures. That was the first time since before 2012 he had gone a whole day without seizures. The trend continued, until Saturday, five days later, when he had his first seizure since before the first acupuncture treatment. This is how I know that this will work, and is the treatment that will save my boyfriend's life.

Please, this experience with the acupuncturist has shown me a new hope in what our lives could be, if he was to complete his year long acupuncture treatment.

Before, I was terribly sad and lost, and I have regained a vision of how we were before his seizures. Please don't let this vision disappear into memory.
