Family outings

Today my family and I went for a nice almost 3 mile hike. I wanted to write a post on how fun and memorable it was, but sadly that wasn't the case. Instead here is my not so fun post.

I asked my mom and little brother to join in on funtivities!! I will say it was great to be in tune with nature and away from traffic noise and pollution . The air is just so clean and refreshing. I get excited when it comes to exploring new areas. Although as excited as I was in our group of 7 one was not such a happy camper 😣

My oldest is recovering from a slight cold so she was a bit miserable. At the beginning of the first mile she seemed ok but as it got steeper and she realized we would be there a while she started to whine. I wanted to go faster and join the rest of the group, but my daughter was wasn't having it . I even tried to say little fun motivational things throughout the hike like "oh man baby can you imagine how much fun this will be to talk about at school Monday"! .. Or maybe we will see one of the animals listed in the front ", or if you put some effort we will go get a treat of your choice"! I mean nothing seemed to get her excited. I'm almost 100% she rolled her eyes when I said that 🙄 . The parts of the trail that were steep were a bit challenging but she made them even more so by practically crawling down 🤦🏻‍♀️. I will be honest I expected my little ones to pull something like that. They however were flying by it and running and yelling , pretty sure they scared any animals within 10 miles! So much for animal watching. 🦌🐿

On another fun note I had to make sure they didnt drink much h2o💦 due to no bathrooms. With little kids the more you tell them to hold it the more they say they cant !

Once we got closer to where we started she seemed to pick up a little steam so I almost felt like continuing a little further. Then I overheard her say we are almost to the entrance. Boo me, that was short lived. 😕

All in all my friends I would say it was an okay hike exploration. Anyone out there trail/hiking experts that can share a few pointers when you take younger children along?
