It's not just the blacking up, it's the behaviours, the mocking of the dancing. It all adds to the old black face routines where they'd portray black men as idiots. It's disgusting and a travesty that Australia thinks this is ok. The funny thing is the black men they are mocking are artistic musicians, Michael was/is a genius of art/dance/writing.
