Alright, so today I bring another gem of television. Fox's second second show about mutants: The Gifted. I was honestly just into this show because like I've said before, I eat anything with the Marvel logo in it. But as soon as I saw the pilot I knew that, unlike some of the X-Men movies, this was a good mutants story.
The Gifted revolves around the Stucker family, with their two particular and especial children, Lauren (played by Natalie Alyn Lind) and Andy (Percy Hynes White), who are mutants. As the series goes, they find themselves joining an underground community of mutants - a list that includes main cast Jamie Chung, as Clarice "Blink" Fong, Blair Redford, as John "Thunderbird" Proudstar, Emma Dumont as Magneto's daughter Lorna "Polaris" Dane and my dear Sean Teale (who is of venezuelan descent), in the role of Marcos "Eclipse" Diaz.
Although the show does star the Struckers, its strong point is, naturally, in the mutants stories. The ones listed above particularly not only do have compelling, interesting backgrounds but their powers are also quite great and their relationships with each other you'll surely find entertaining.
Though not as groundbreaking and mind-blowing as Legion, this show does justice to the X-Men material being good and entertaining, things that many of the movies have failed in the past. All its thirteen episodes are pretty eventful and fairly well-written, also the special effects are good enough for a TV production.
The season finale absolutely leaves you wanting for more so, I'll give this one:
