Friendship is important

Hi guys,

Lately, I've been thinking a lot about friendship, including my own. It's pretty easy, well for most of the people to make new friendships, hence the friendship is the same as any other relationship - for example, partnership. It needs deep work, time and dedication, love and respect for one another. Not taking our friendship for granted and only being there for each other when everything is great and happy.

We all have been through some deep disappointments and learning more about our friends when the going gets tough in our life. When we need support and guidance, thus mostly understanding and no judgment present, when a friend says:"I told you so, you should listen to me." That's not true friendship, wouldn't you agree?

Lately, I've realized I have just one true friend that I can confide in her just about everything. There's no judgment and no I told you so. My friend's name is Nena and she been my friend for the past four years. I always say to her how grateful I am to have her. She has a pure soul and would not hurt a fly, truly not. She supports me when I'm happy or deeply sad. We truly respect each other and help one another when one is needed.

When I started writing this post, my memory brought me back to my early twenties, when one of my friends said to me:"You know, we have just one true friend or maybe two at once if we are lucky." I was so young back then, and of course, I didn't have the clue how right he was.

Nowadays I see so much envy and competition among friends. Is it the same for friendship as it is for love when they say:"True love is hard to find." Do you agree?

I just know and my advice is - cherish your friends and your loved ones, and most importantly don't take them for granted. Take time for them NOW, tomorrow might be too late. What's your opinion on today's friendships and what friendship means to you?

I wish you a lot of love and true friends.

Much love,
SR*

this article reminds me of my longstanding friendship, but we are separated because of our work

Life and different circumstances can separate us, especially when you grow up, get married, and create a family etc.

Nice short but thought provoking post! I too have been struggling with friendships and disappointments lately xx

Thank you. I've learned over the years people come and go. If they don't grow with you, the universe will take them away and that is OK. It just means new people will come into your life ... just the other day I was at two different workshops and met new people... but of course, we are humans with feelings and getting disappointed in normal, as we have a certain expectation of the people we love. There is where the heartache is ...All well to you! xo
