Another 5 minutes freewrite: The Herds men.
It's another freewrite challenge and everyone is invited to join the challenge, yes you heard me right it's an open invitation, feel free to join. To join today's challenge, here is the prompt.
The repeated killings and impunity with which the perpetrators parade themselves has really raised a lot of eyebrows as to whether there is government complicity in the whole episode.
The Fulani born President has been handling the issue with kids gloves, and even his recent assertion that the killings are perpetrated by Lybians trained by late Gaddafi makes one wonder if he is actually worthy of being a leader.
The same herds men he was saying every state in the country should donate land free of charge to in order for them to rear their cows are now Lybians?
I wonder when herds men carry Ak-47 riffles around in broad daylight and they are not arrested. People are brought out from their homes at night and slaughtered, blockaded in their churches and massacred, their wives and daughters are raped and then butchered yet no arrests have been made.
Benue state keeps burying people every week in mass graves, and whole villages are sacked and burnt, yet the government is doing nothing to protect these innocent lives, one sometimes wonders if this is not a government sponsored jihad.
Indeed the situation has raised a lot of eyebrows, but what can we do other than to pray for my beloved country Nigeria.
My 5minutes is up and its just a 5minutes free write challenge, and I'm heartbroken tonight. See you some other time.
It makes me so very sad to read this. So many people in the world are suffering and those who are supposed to protect them are looking the other way. I too pray for your country and all the countries in the world which are filled with violence.
Maybe you are going to take 40 % off your writing time today? 🤣 Better not. 5 minutes is such a deal!!!
