Day 84 SoundCheck

in #freewrite7 years ago

There is a sound inside of my ears which is like a meditative man inviting a gong from time to time. This noise is the divine sound of my heartbeat, but as a child I was convinced that there was a man inside of me. Perhaps I was more correct then than I am now - the mysteries of what we believe are the veils which we use to conceal reality.

The sounds of a waterfall remind you to check into your consciousness - are you using music correctly or just to cover up your own thoughts? Are you mindful of the voices in your head or are you going to a doctor about them? The wisdom within us is like the Excalibur being thrown into the lake; who will retrieve our weapon of truth?

Can you hear when someone is talking, or do you simply repeat their words in your own mind? Are you able to listen to what they aren't saying, or are you stuck on the literal? Is the reason for hiding the same reason that we stop listening to our inner gong?

In 2018 there's time for retreating into the silence and listening to the thoughts. I say 'the' thoughts because they may or may not belong to you. Yoga teaches that watching the thoughts go by as we watch clouds go by assists us in finding our truth in the sky, instead of wanting to perceive that which will float away anyways. The noise in your brain is who you are, and yet you are so much more than that.

Awesome read. Although, contrary to your story, I need to stop listening to my thoughts and make some noise in 2018!

Haha yeah, that was actually what my story was supposed to convey :D

Yes, now, I am going back to making some serious noise (the guitar kind of noise as opposed to the quiet yelling noise in your head).

Nice! I had a ukulele for a while haha

I bought one of those when I went traveling. Too cumbersome to carry a guitar.

Got a picture of me with it here:

I love this and it is written beautifully. On of the things that I love about freewriting is that it lets you open your mind and you let go, whether it be good or bad. I really enjoyed this. : )

@whatisnew thank you so much! I really didn't even like this when I was writing it but so many nice reviews shows me that even the stuff I think isn't that great is still diamond quality xD

Isn't that the best feeling? That has happened to me too; once or twice. But mine for this prompt was really corny and I almost didn't post it.

Quite euphoric :)

Great job, you sure went in a different direction than mine. Keep them coming.

Thank you :) never know what freewrite will bring!
What does !untalented mean??

It's a bot that I try to call when I like a post. He doesn't always respond. You can use @steem-untalented or !untalented

!untalented

It takes focus and care to listen to another, most just hear and think of what they're going to respond with. Bringing in Excalibur as the sword of truth was a fitting symbol, nicely done! As for your line about using music correctly, I've not heard it put that way. Thank you for making me think about all of the ways that I use music!

Today I am Marianne's specially programmed robotic delivery squirrel. I'm scampering through the freewriters, bringing our lady's next creative prompt.

:D Thank you very much for this well thought out comment - I'm super glad that the symbol of Excalibur meant something to you as well. And yeah, music effects us big time :)
Already did that freewrite ! I titled it Maize though :D

You're welcome, I love posts that get me thinking! Sorry about how late I am in delivering the prompts, I have to wait until after I arrive home from work on Fridays to be able to make the rounds.

Yoga teaches that watching the thoughts go by as we watch clouds go by

My father has been practicing yoga for forty years, and this is one of the first meditation advices he gave me.
I often do it when I go to sleep, and it washes away all the thoughts of the day, leaving me in a state of deep calm and inner peace that is a prelude to a good rest.

Isn't it beautiful?
That's awesome your dad has been practicing for forty years!! Who has he learned with??
My pops taught me about the body scan when I was young :P Like minded fellows

Gotta tray that tonight!

How'd it work out for ya ?? :P
