A good meal after a long day of work - Freewrite
#Entry 24
The red flesh is ripped of its bone, a carnivorous act of pure joy.
Who wouldn't want to dig in to a morcele of a meal? Jeff had a tough day. It was long, it was arduous, but that's what you get when you pursue your life's passion. When you dedicate yourself to a craft that few else in the world can do.
A butcher by trade, Jeff knows his cuts inside out. The eye, the shoulder blade, the cheek, the neck - it's his favourite. See you can learn a lot about carving up meat through books. But Jeff learnt from a relatively young age that it takes a lot of practice to get it right.
He was only young when he first started. The knife gently separating skin and muscle. The tissue giving way like string as it snaps under the fine tension of the knife. Who could ask for a better job? A more satisfying job?
Recently the work has been harder for Jeff. You wouldn't think that would be the case however. I mean Jeff is Jeff's only customer. There is only one mouth to feed. But it's just that well. People have started to catch on to Jeff. He isn't exactly you normal type of guy. Shy with woman, shy with men, shy with the world around him. His only solace his industrial meat freezer. It's funny because no one has ever really been into Jeff's store. It's constantly closed. The window's a dark tint that you can't even peer through the window.
The other day Jenny was seen with Jeff, and hasn't been seen since. Not to mention the other disappearances in the town of late.
#Freewrite
Every now and again I write for 5 minutes continuously and do not stop until the timer runs out. What you read is a stream of words coming out all at once. No editing, no worrying. I find this creates amazing stories as you just have to let the words take you, rather than force them out. Enjoy.
I knew it was going to end evil!! good job! You carried the tension throughout and I kept feeling the unease in my stomach...
Misdirection and surprise make the best freewrite's in my opinion :D
"Jeff is Jeff's only customer." I sure am glad there is only one cannibal. Yuck! Halloween is here thanks to this horror flick now in my mind. : )
