The blaring white light illuminated each of the four corners of the barren room. Signalling the loneliness and emptiness in the recently divorced mans life. Slumping against a wall, observing his surroundings and realising how sad his life truly is. His once married life, torn away by his own neglect, the man never thought that work would dominate so much of his life. Money was always the source of his wife's happiness, the shallow necessity of his marriage. Now that he had time alone, he could finally grasp how much monster his wife truly was, from the arguing and verbal abuse to almost being stabbed. He had once thought they were normal phases in marriage and that they would soon pass over time, regretfully it had never come to pass. His vision now blurred with tears, he weeps at the loss of his home and belongings and how ignorant he was to his wifes behaviour. He reaches into his duffle bag, containing what little clothes he could collect and pulls out his phone, screen cracked and showing years of wear. He enters the passcode and is greeted by an image of him and his wife on their honeymoon. A tear drops down and lands onto the screen, dividing into multiple droplets and sliding down the cracks.
