How do you spend your free time? Is it really ”free”?
When I was younger, I didn’t feel bad about spending all day in my room watching movies or playing video games. It felt like I was relaxing from everything that was happening around. Although, when looking back, I didn’t have anything to relax from. Life was easy.
It isn’t like I have completely wasted my time playing video games or watching movies. I have learned a lot, the English language, as a perfect example. School had nothing to do with my education, it only slowed it down. Everything I’ve learned has come from practice.
Today, I feel bad if I decide to watch some movies instead of putting in actual work to improve my financial situation. It feels like I’m stealing time away from myself. Even with this on my mind, I still occasionally spend my time with useless stuff. It’s a habit that’s hard to break but I’m on my way and I’m determined to get there.
Everyone has heard the famous quote: ”Time is money”
The famous quote ”Time is money” first appeared in an essay by Benjamin Franklin, “Advice to a Young Tradesman”, in 1748th. From that time on, young businessmen like you and I have been inspired by it. Now BOI’s time to put it to use!
When is your free time?
Everything depends on your lifestyle and the type of job that you’re doing. If you’re unemployed, you’re probably seeking a job or doing other things to maintain your finances straight and pay rent. If you live with your parents and you don’t have to pay rent, you probably have to do some homework, which naturally takes time.
Then you need time to prepare your food. If someone else does it for you, you still have to eat, which takes time. Naturally, you will have to clean your body by going to the toilet when your food gets processed. It’s called shitting and it takes time.
No matter how determined you are to stay awake, you will have to go to sleep and stay like that for at least six hours to re-energize your body and mind. It’s what your body needs and you can’t do anything about it. It takes time.
What is left? Now it’s your ”free time” to do whatever you wish. Your friend calls, you need to socialize and talk about something that happened or will happen in the near future. No matter how fun the call was, it took time.
Now you can do whatever you want. What is it? Are you tired and you want to sit down and browse your phone? Or are you ready to do what it takes to achieve results that you’ve been day-dreaming about? It’s time to stop dreaming and start acting. It’s not free time, it’s time to set yourself free!
Until the next time, THEBOI!
