Freedom for the Freelancer?

I know that in my previous post, I established that I'm a staunch optimist. What I'm about to share with you may seem to contradict that sentiment. However, the class still isn't half full; it's brimming with potential. That being said, I believe the world has a lot to rejoice over the advent of Bitcoin, Steem and other cryptocurrencies. One reason at the for in my mind is the ability to send and receive money limitlessly across borders. It wrenches control from the hands of governments both your own and other foreign, sanction-wielding governments who limit our ability to participate in this growing world economy in a bid to pressurize disfavored incumbant leaders to fall in line. Cryptocurrencies make it possible to ignore both.

Many of us will have noticed that there is a glass ceiling built to preclude people from certain parts of the world from taking up opportunities to find work on the Internet. You don't get this information up front, though as many of the sites let you go through the process of signing up and even passing their tests, only to find out that the means by which you're supposed to get paid is unavailable in your country. This has led to many determined people looking for ways to trick the system into thinking they are some place else in order to recieve payment. this can work for a while until it doesn't.

If more companies that offer freelance opportunities to people on the internet were to accept cryptocurrencies as an option to receive funds, we would see the end of this regime of control that sees people in countries like Zimbabwe in a perpetual strangle hold. Hats off to those who have found ways to work around the system.
