The average straw man
This post could be considered supplementary to my previous one, concerning the notion that everybody is the same.
Well not everybody is same. There is potential to create a lot in common --possibly up to everything, to agree over everything. But that cannot be forced. You see, an agreement cannot be an agreement unless somebody actually agrees.
There have been certain elements in society that have -by various means- tried to force or trick everyone to agree, to become the same, to think the same, to act the same, to have to same. All those things are linked to each other.
Why do that? Because it's easier to stir a soup made of confused, half asleep elements, than to have each element act independently, or so they think. In truth two or more can easily agree over things, if they so wish to, if don't feel forced, tricked or hindered from doing so. The 'problem' is they wouldn't agree over things that would harm them.
A popular way to have people agree is to create things like voodoo dolls for them; not actual, physical voodoo dolls, but concepts. One could convince another that he was what he was told he was, that it would become almost true for him that he was that thing. If one had a child and called it 'stupid' all the time, the child could grow to believe it. But of course that would mostly depent on how capable the child was to know truth, instead of getting convinced of lies.
Among other things, there are two sorts of voodoo dolls that are commonly used to create that average soup. One is the straw man. A straw man is a false image created for you by another in order to win an argument against you or to reduce tou. It can be made of half-truths and utter lies; and depending how skilled one is in making those, it can also be very convincing.
The other kind of a false image is the opposite of a straw man. It is the creating an image that is much better than one is. That is commonly attatched to serious large scale criminals and others with malicious intentions in order to make them appear nice and sweet. There is no name that I know for that image, so I thought to name it cuddly teddy bear, as those images as ridiculous as that. Since such people are also control freaks (obssesed with controlling others) this gives them a chance to actually gain rank over others --even in the name of pretended 'love' and 'equality'.
You will find that those that buy one doll also tend to buy the other too. If one believes a devil is an angel he is very liable to believe that an angel is a devil too, which makes up a completely unffair and insane state of affairs.
Now, I don't write all that to have you go out on the streets and scream in protest, for that wouldn't work. Just be aware of some things so you wont buy them. Don't look for feedback in others whether you are good or bad. And try to get rid of past ideas about yourself and others that you might have bought that way. Also, in evaluating others don't believe in words and projected images. Perceive what that person is and does through your own viewpoint and you cannot be fooled. Even better, do create the person you want him or her to be (hopefully, something good) instead of protesting how bad he or she might be. Nobody likes to be seen with suspicion.
