Here Are Some Great Projects for Upcycling FENCE PANELS to Build a More Sustainable WorldsteemCreated with Sketch.

We invest our time and energy in respecting and protecting the Earth.

This is what drives us to rescue 350,000 pounds of "trash" resources from the landfill each year.

It's incredible to see what people throw away...millions of tons of perfectly good, perfectly useable material is completely forsaken as "waste" every single day, in complete disregard for the massive amounts of time, energy, and manpower that went into manufacturing goods--not to mention the extraction of natural resources they required, as if our one living planet can renew reserves that took millions of years to create at will!!

This is one of the many reasons we love a sustainable lifestyle. We are automatically abundant in valuable resources when we look on piles of "garbage" as opportunities to create useful things & honor our Earth!

We're sharing some sustainable projects to inspire you to shift your perspective on "trash" as well. Here are some ways to use pallets, and here are some ways to use tires.

Today, we have a few project ideas for repurposing FENCE PANELS:

1. Floors

LOOK AT THIS INCREDIBLE FLOOR!!! This is one of the many gorgeous floors @everlove LAID BY HAND. It's absolutely epic, and it's made from discarded fence panels. She used trash to create incredible, unique, useful ART!

When our dance parties started to make the floor bounce, we discovered that we had water damage in the beams holding up our foundation. We took on the great project of fixing it ourselves, and our @everlove graced the experience with her eye for beauty and one of a kind creation. Our amazing floors really deserve an entire post in themselves, as they are a true testament to sustainability, DIY, innovation, and creation.

2. Raised Beds

We lashed together discarded fence panels, filled it with dirt, planted herbs in it, and voilà: free food & medicine!!!

3. Frame a Structure

This is the Tinder Tent next to our outdoor kitchen, where we keep firestarter neat and tidy and dry. The idea is that you can grab a handful of kindling from the top barrel and work your way down, and you will end up with the exact right selection of wood to start a fire in our earthen rocket stoves. Fire building is a science and an art, and we make it easy and cute by keeping our Tinder Tent stocked with wood of various sizes. We use fence panels as walls to protect the wood from rain, as it's a lot harder to start a fire with wet wood.

4. Fuel

We also break down and burn fence panels. They are an ideal fuel for our rocket stoves, as they are a perfect size & shape. We use fence panels that were treated with chemicals or paint for other purposes, because they really stink and make a lot of smoke when burned.

We use "trash" fuel instead of electricity or natural gas to prepare 40,000 free meals a year--super sustainability winning!!!

5. Panel Walls

We used discarded fence panels to finish the walls in one of the tiny homes on our property! It adds a charming rustic touch to a sweet little space. Plus, what is more beautiful than giving new life to discarded resources Earth resources??

We hope to inspire you to look at things with new eyes and see the wealth and abundance that already exists around us!

Please Reduce Reuse & Recycle

Thank you. It's nice people like you that restores my faith in humanity, I posted today a post using wood for growing a garden, I have listed the post below. Thanks for opening peoples eyes to the reality of what we can upcycle.

Grateful for your support, @gardengirlcanada! We're fans of the hugel mounds too, especially when there's a great deal of stumps or brush to "dispose" of. It's wild to consider that some people send TREES in any form to the landfill!

Wow that is not only awesome, but amazing to have that talent! Kudos my friend, have an up vote and a resteem :)

Thank you, @royschuh! Grateful for your support. Our @everlove is a true artist with a great appreciation for not only beauty, but salvaged materials. You can check out some of her trasHart on Peerhub even!

Thanks @royschuh! I appreciate your appreciation. It's an extra challenge to use what we have (and what others consider trash) and turn it into something of value. I'm grateful for the opportunity to engage my passions in ways that are beneficial to the earth.

Oh Myyyyy ! I just discover your blog and it's SO inspiring ! Thank you for sharing that here on Steemit! I wish one day I can come to visit your place and your community ... your project is so pure !
We can feel the abundance & serenity from your place...

Thank you for feeling us out, @roxane! Would be a pleasure to meet you one day~*~

We know so many sustainable solutions for living a happier, healthier, more satisfying life, and we're grateful to share that on a platform like this! It's really profound to share the change we're living with a global community. May we all continue to benefit, support, & uplift each other!

some great ideas and amazing effort. the floors made by @everlove are really stunning!!

Thank you, @jkly87--she is a very talented lady!

I'm glad you love them too @jkly87. It's really fun to live in a place where passion is valued and where the opportunity for creative expression is sustainably supported. Thanks for your comment.

Wow! Great job! Y'all are doing some amazing things here! Now if we could just get the water bottle companies to just stop making plastics!!! Err.. The problem with today's society is that the majority of people don't care about recycling. Everyone wants dispensables, but complain when things are made cheaply, and bring up the "good ole days" line about how things were made back then!! Create, innovate, recreate! Thanks for sharing this awesomeness!

People have some seriously skewed values, which is why we keep calling for a revolution in them! If there was no demand for disposable plastic, there would be no incentive to make them. Every single person is capable of making some change that is in support of a greater good. Thanks for your comment, @michael14876!

I believe people lack imagination. If we would all see that we could make a floor like that out of "thrown away wood" there would not be thrown away wood. Imagination is what sets artists apart.

Look at earthships for instance, who ever tought of using bottles to fill up wall space?

I have built earth ships before and MANY buildings out of trash. A whole little village really.
